About Me
I am a songwriter, producer, guitarist, mix engineer, and arranger based in New York City. I’ve released four albums of my own music–Postscript (2009), Outside (2012), Primetime (2015), Crowded Hour (2018) and a fifth that I’m slowly plugging away at. As a sideman and producer, I have worked with a diverse set of artists, ranging from pop to country to rock to children’s music and beyond. My work has been nominated for a GRAMMY, featured in television and film, and streamed all over the world.
My favorite aspect of music-making, whether it be as part of a live band or in the studio, is working with the artist to craft a unique and effective arrangement for each song. Sometimes that involves synthesizers and drum machines, sometimes a more stripped-down acoustic treatment is called for. Sometimes a song needs a full orchestral arrangement, sometimes it just needs something a little weird. Finding the right outfit for a particular set of lyrics, melodies, and chords to wear and stand out in is, for me, the most satisfying of creative challenge
